Anna-Magdalena Bach – Lyubov Tolkalina
Pyotr Glavatskikh, marimba
Featuring children choir “Aurora” of Children School n.a. V.V. Kraynev
Art director Anastasia Belyaeva

Fedor Stroganov, organ

As a personality, Anna Magdalena Bach – the second wife of Bach the Genius – is controversial. Questions, doubts, gossips are in abundance, while there’s little real information about this literally legendary woman, the muse for the greatest composer.

Our show is an attempt to pick up and unite all the known real facts to go through pivotal points of Anna’s life together with her. Words can be insufficient – and it’s where the music begins. The music of JS Bach: timeless, and that’s why cotemporary in every tempora.

The love and music story is told by Lyubov Tolkalina, the actress, and Pyotr Glavatskikh, the musician and the author.

Petr makes his cutting-edge instrument called “marimba” sound like a baroque thing, while “Aurora” and Fedor Stroganov perform Bach’s great music.
