All Tchaikovsky’s symphonies

Tchaikovsky. Symphonies №№ 1 and 4
On 7 and 8 September, Valery Gergiev and Mariinsky Symphony orchestra break the second season of “Zaryadye”. All the Tchaikovsky symphonies, as well as concerts of laureates of the 16th Tchaikovsky Competition are in the programme.

On the 7th of September, the collective will go on stage twice, in 4 P.M. and 8 P.M. The first time, they are going to play Symphonies №№ 1 and 4. Mazepa's Arioso (arranged for trombone) from the eponymous opera is in the set list, too; the soloist – Alexey Lobikov (Russia), the winner of the First Prize for “Brass Wind Instruments” of the 16th Tchaikovsky Competition.

The set list of the second concert contains Symphonies №№ 2 and 5, and the Valse-Scherzo for violin and orchestra. The soloist in the latter piece is the winner of the 2nd prize for “Violin” of 16th Tchaikovsky Competition Mark Bushkov (Belgium). Valery Gergiev will be the conductor at both concerts.

The next day, September 8, at 12.00 will see the third concert of the cycle that starts the second season in “Zaryadye”. Again, Valery Gergiev will join the Mariinsky Symphony orchestra to perform Symphonies №№ 3 and 6, while flutist Matvey Demin (Russia), the First prize winner of the 16th Tchaikovsky Competition for “Woodwind Instruments”, will be soloing in Lensky’s aria from “Eugene Onegin” arranged for flute.
