Most likely, many people remember Lyudmila Gurchenko's sensational debut as a film director – “Motley Twilight” about a visually impaired wonder boy who plays the piano. The film was based on a real story, the one of Oleg Akkuratov, a musician from Yeisk (Krasnodar Krai). Blind from birth, at the age of four he already picked up all tunes he heard on the piano. Later, he learned to read notes written in Braille, graduated from the Moscow State Music College of Pop and Jazz Music, Pop and Jazz Music Department of the Institute of Music of the Moscow University of Culture and Art and the Rostov Conservatory, and began touring as a brilliant jazz pianist, improviser and a singer. Since 2013, he has collaborated with Igor Butman, Igor Butman Quartet and the Moscow Jazz Orchestra, and travelled half the world with these musicians.

The Sparkles of Classics programme highlights another Akkuratov’s talent – his unique interpretations of classic masterpieces. He will perform together with a soloist of the Sverdlovsk Academic Theatre of Musical Comedy Yaroslava Prokofieva (soprano), violinist and composer Anastasia Vedyakova awarded at several international and regional music competitions, and a winner of many music competitions Gleb Stepanov (cello).

The concert is organized by Igor Butman Foundation.
