Pieces of the winners of “New Classics” competition
The International Composers Fund “New Classics” gave its bold name to the concert. The Fund is established in 2018 in order to promote composers, to organize youth musical projects, and to carry out cultural, educational, and socially significant programs. “The main job and purpose of the ‘New Classics’ Fund is to introduce new composers that work in the classical tradition to the audience”, the Fund CEO Yulia Muzyka says.

A number of charity concerts, as well as the International Young Composers Competition and educational project “’New Classics’ School” were organized during the Fund’s lifetime.

Now the International Composers Fund “New Classics” announces casting for participation in the forthcoming concert in “Zaryadye”, with the best pieces for symphony orchestra to be performed there. There is no age limit for participants.

Musica Viva chamber orchestra with conductor Philipp Chizhevsky will perform winners’ pieces. The orchestra is famous for its novelty programmes, where unknown masterpieces are introduced. No wonder that this time the chosen conductor is Chizhevsky, whose name is associated with the most daring recent experimental projects.

The concert is in two parts, with some “new classics” performed in the first, and the prominent contemporary Russian composers in the second. Batagov, Manotskov, and Akhunov – celebrity composers – have already confirmed their participation… and the list will be added!
