This duo consists of two great representatives of Russia’s piano school. Though Alexey Volodin
Is coming from Saint Petersburg, his alma mater is Moscow conservatory, and it was there that he studied piano with the great Eliso Virsaladze.
After Konstantin Lifschitz had graduated from the Gnesins Russian Academy of Music, he later studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Winning many prestigious competitions, both pianists pursue brilliant international careers.
Both musicians enjoy great critical acclaim. Alexey Volodin is usually referred to as “a virtuoso and a thinker” and “the musician of the future”, while Lifschitz is a “subtle interpreter of most sophisticated pieces”.
