As a part of the celebratory programme to commemorate 80 year of the famous singer, the Elena Obraztsova Fund presents Bizet opera “Carmen” in concert version on the 5th of June, 2019, in the Moscow concert hall “Zaryadye”.

Among all operas, “Carmen” was one of Obraztsova’s favorites. The image of the title heroine influenced the singer so much that she used to improvise onstage. Elena Obraztsova was named “the best Carmen of the World” during a festival in Barcelona dedicated to 100 years since the opera’s creation. The festival jury decided Obraztsova to have been “the subtlest and most accurate messenger of Bizet art conception”.

“‘Carmen’ is the only opera that is not sung by me, rather it sings itself via me”, Elena Obraztsova once said.
