Grammy nominee Maxim Rysanov performs in “Zaryadye” Hall

Violin player Boris Brovtzyn and the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian
Federation take part in the concert Viola player Maxim Rysanov graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London).
There he was majoring both in conducting and viola, and now billboards more often indicate
both of his roles.
Under Rysanov’s direction, the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation
named after Yevgeny Svetlanov presents a very dramatic, conceptual program of “imitating”
oeuvres. “Britten’s ‘Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge’ imitate different European styles,
and certain composer’s styles, the ones of Rossini, Ravel, or Stravinsky”, says Maxim. “In his
‘Pulcinella Suite’, Stravinsky the neoclassic uses Pergolesi uses some themes of Pergolesi, while
the third part of his violin – almost barocco-esque! – Concerto is stylized to resemble Bach’s
Sarabanda”.
