Oleg Akkuratov, piano
“In Memory of the Victory”

Anastasiya Vedyakova, violin
Anna Ivanova, ebru
Oleg Akkuratov is a virtuoso pianist, who is as good at jazz as at classical music. A brilliant improviser, he won many international contests, including 2018 Sara Vaughan competition in the USA.

He was a child prodigy discovered by a great late Russian actress and singer Lyudmila Gurchenko, who spotted him at a restaurant. Mesmerized by his talent and courage – he was born blind – he would invite him to perform at her concerts, and was happy to sing to him play.

In 2013, Oleg Akkuratov made a sensational appearance at the “Triumf Jaza” Festival, an event masterminded by Igor Butman, and the pianist has been a frequent collaborator with Moscow Jazz Orchestra and Igor Butman Quartet ever since.

Today, Oleg Akkuratov is a world-renowned musician. He plays with the greatest of the jazz and classic realms, Wynton Marsalis and Montserrat Caballé, Evelyn Glennie and Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Deborah Brown.

“In Memory of the Victory” is that kind of show that will reach all of us. Shostakovitch and Prokofiev oeuvres, as well as rearranged great old tunes from classic Soviet war movies make up the set list.

The video art is quite unusual: ebru, painting on water’s surface.
