La Voce Strumentale
Conductor Dmitry Sinkovsky
Julia Lezhneva, soprano

The concert is cancelled

Each performance by soprano Yulia Lezhneva is an event for lovers of early music and opera. Her concerts are always sold out. The press admires “the voice of” angelic purity “flying into the stratosphere” and “impeccable technology.” “How is it even possible to sing trills and arpeggios at such a dizzying speed, without losing the naturalness inherent in everyday speech? It seems that while performing the most complex, virtuoso music, this voice does not even approach the limit of its capabilitie”, the Colta wrote. Julia Lezhneva sings on major stages of the world with the best orchestras and early music ensembles under the baton of Mark Minkowski, John Eliot Gardiner, Anthony Pappano, Roger Norrington and others.

Dmitry Sinkovsky is one of the few Russian worldwide recognized baroque musicians. Moreover, he enjoys, so to say, triple recognition: as violinist, conductor, and countertenor. He is a Moscow Conservatory graduate. He started digging into historically informed performance under the guidance of Marie Leonhardt. Later he took part in clinics of such prominent musicians as Thomas Zehetmair, Sigiswald Kuijken, Sir Roger Norrington, Tugan Sokhiev, and Andreas Staier.

In 2011 Dmitry Sinkovsky founded in Moscow the ensemble on period instruments La Voce Strumentale, gathering together musicians winners of international competitions. The musicians created a unique language based on historical temperaments, boundless energy, and impeccable technique, establishing a reputation for possessing a colorful, sharp and charismatic sound. The ensemble is regular partner of Julia Lezhneva and often joined by special guests as Kristina Mkhitaryan, Julia Mazurova, Luca Pianca, Simone Vallerotonda, and Margret Köll. La Voce Strumentale performs regularly at the most prestigious venues in Moscow, in the major European concert halls such as Wiener Konzerthaus, Berliner Philharmonie, Gewandhaus Leipzig, Saint-Petersburg State Philarmonia. Regular guest of renowned festivals, La Voce Strumentale performed at Rheingau Musikfestival, Händel-Festspiele Halle, Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Kissinger Sommer, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Lucerne Festival, St. Galler Festspiele, Festival de musique Baroque de Ambronay. The ensemble released two CD’s under the French label naïve: Vivaldi's Four Seasons (2015) and Bach in Black (2017).
