Teodor Currentzis
Orchestra musicAeterna

The first symphony concert musicAeterna conducted by Theodor Currentzis in 2021 will be dedicated to the composers who shaped the development of musical culture in the 1920s. Debussy, Stravinsky and Ravel were friends, collaborated, inspired each other, discussed premieres and new compositions. A century later, their music continues those sincere, lively enthusiastic dialogues that filled the communication of three outstanding musicians.

The Prelude to Debussy's “Afternoon of a Faun”, Ravel's “Le Tombeau de Couperin” and Stravinsky's Suite “Pulcinella” are musical jewels created with great tenderness and attention to the past, and at the same time clearly and openly looking into the future – the very one in which we we live now.

The classics of the 20th century, still striking in their beauty and exquisite craftsmanship, sound no less bright today than a hundred years ago, if you follow Stravinsky's behest and treat it not with “respect”, but with sincere love – exactly as they do it musicAeterna and Theodor Currentzis.
