“Van Gogh. Letters to my brother”

Vincent Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo throughout the artist’s whole life, will be read by a prominent Russian Actor Yevgeny Mironov. Those letters are a 100-pages long, unique stunning document. The letters are not the simple dialogue with Theo, but also with Vincent himself, the world, and God. Sometimes it’s a scream of the tortured, dying artist.

“This is a story of an artist who, despite all the circumstances, wanted to live and work till his last second, because he, never considering himself a great creator, wanted to leave behind something that could justify his life somehow”, Yevgeny Mironov says.

The Van Gogh story told in letters and music – this is the way the concert was conceived. Music pieces was chosen in accordance with the emotions of the letters. Oeuvres of Johannes Brahms, Alfred Schnittke, Gustav Mahler, and Ludwig van Beethoven, are performed by maestro Yuri Bashmet and chamber ensemble “Moscow Soloists”
