The “Conlucia” music theatre appeared as a result of a youth project presented in September 2018 in Moscow.

Now the artists of the youth theatre present their rendition of “The Elixir of Love”, a famous opera of Donizetti. “Our version”, they say, “is full of authentic emotions and feelings, and complicated human relations made them even more painful. The story goes far beyond a lyrical comedy, it’s more an opera-drama”.

Basically, the core of the story is a simple-hearted Nemorino, who tries to hide his desperate love for the beautiful Adina. He is sure that a magical elixir of love will help him conquer the heart of Adina, but the potion turns out to be simple wine. What would be the end of this tangled romance?

As for the opera, “The Elixir of Love” is considered to be one of the highest peaks of Gaetano Donizetti. In Russia, it was first performed in 1984 in Saint Petersburg.

Being an example of belcanto in its purest form, it has been capturing audience attention for more than 150 years, while Nemorino’s romance “Una furtive lagrima” from the second act is a part of the golden classic of the opera genre.
