Director Mikhail Eliseev will present a musical and plastic composition to the music of Gustav Mahler at the Zaryadye hall. The performance will combine music, choreography and poetic word. The project is based on Mahler's vocal cycles based on Friedrich Rückert's poems «Songs of the Earth» and «Songs of Dead Children», as well as poems by Japanese poets.

«The performance in a plastic and musical form reflects the experience of a man and a woman who have experienced the loss of a child. The pain of loss, disbelief in what happened, rejection of reality, a natural reaction to the tragedy that happened – these are dramatic, but temporary pages in a person's life path. The knowledge of pain, the knowledge of death is an invariable component of the knowledge of life. To lead the audience through catharsis to enlightenment - this is the purpose of the performance, and for this we turned to the works of Mahler,» explains the director.
