Ambar (Amber) band.
Journey Through Latin America

“Ambar” is Spanish for “amber”. This “amber” band consists of three Columbians, Francisco Gonzales (guitar), Nelson Gomez (guitarron), Juan Fernando Garcia (percussion/flute), and a well-known Russian violin player Alexander Rozhdestvensky. Actually, it was him who created this international project back in 2000.

The basic idea of the “amber” project is a fusion of two cultures, Latin American and Russian. The repertoire of the band consists of Columbian music (bambuco, pasillo, cumbia, and porro), Venezuelan, Brazilian (rhythms of choro), and Argentinian tango, adored by Russians. Ambar has been touring Europe and America; album “El diablo suelto” (“The Lonely Devil”) was released in 2010 via Delos.
