 Venera Gimadieva, soprano
and Alexander Pokidchenko, piano

Critics consider soprano Venera Gimadieva one of Europe’s most promising lyric coloratura soprano. After she had graduated from the St. Petersburg conservatory, Venera was invited first in the youth programme of the Bolshou, later to became a full-time singer of the theatre. Now she successfully performs in famous European and American opera theaters.

Venera is a brilliant belcanto singer. Her Elvira (“The Puritans”), Juliet ("I Capuleti e i Montecchi"), or Amina (“The Sleepwalker”) won critical and public acclaim. Her repertoire includes iconic arias of Violetta (“Traviata”), Lucia (“Lucia di Lammermoor”), and Tsaritsa of Shemakha (“The Golden Cockerel”), and she sang leading roles in spectacles of Vienna State Opera, the Bolshoi theatre, "Covent Garden", Teatro La Fenice, Opéra de Paris etc.

In the Small Hall of “Zaryadye”, Venera Gimadieva perfroms with pianist Alexander Pokidchenko. Pokidchenko is a Moscow Conservatory graduate, and a regular participant of “Romantika romansa” (“The Romantics of Russian Romance”). He also tours with solo shows that combine music of Mozart, Schumann, Franck, and Fauré with poetry of Puchkin, Balmont, Chekhov, as well as classical Indian and Persian poetry.
