Mozart and Salieri

Nadine Koutcher, soprano
Olga Pashchenko, fortepiano
Pratum Integrum
Conductor – Stefano Montanari

In culture, "Mozart vs. Salieri" was always seen as a dramatic "contradiction". But it is no longer the case: due to growing popularity of baroque music, audience discovers the real Salieri, a truly gifted composer. Bomarche praised his "fine feelings, clear mind, dramatic talent, and prolificacy".

This night, Pratum Integrum plays pieces by both Mozart and Salieri with Italian conductor Stefano Montanari. Montanari is not only conductor, he’s also an accomplished violin and harpsichord player, and one of the best Mozart interpreter. But he is a truly universal musician with serious academic education who looks… like a rock star!

It’s really a treat to see him perform live on stage, for he conducts, plays violin, harpsichord, fortepiano, stands up, sits down, puts his hands I his pockets, shove his baton under the collar, and is doing it… at the same time!
