Pyotr Okhotnikov, cello

Sergei Nakariakov is one of the most sought-after trumpet players on the international stage. After he had performed at Korsholm Festival at the tender age of 13, he was named “The Paganini of the trumpet” by Finnish press. “Caruso of the trumpet” was the moniker given by Music und Theater in 1997. Nakariakov’s repertoire covers not only the entire range of original literature for trumpet, but is continually expanding into broader territories, comprising many fascinating transcriptions, while he searches for ever new means of musical expression. He plays flugelhorn, too. In 2002, Sergei received the ECHO Klassik Award on ZDF as instrumentalist of the year from the German Phono-Academy. Sergei Nakariakov plays on instruments by Antoine Courtois, Paris.

Vera Okhotnikova was born in Russia. Her musical debut was at the tender age of 7, and she first played a full concert with Gorky Symphony orchestra while she was 11 years old. She studied at Moscow Conservatory. Vera is frequent participant of music festivals. Together with her trumpet playing brother Sergei Nakariakov, she formed a successful duo that performs at prestigious European, American, Canadian, and Japanese venues. Their CD ‘Elègie’ was released by TELDEC, and featured duo versions of famous pieces, originnaly written for voice and piano, but rearranged for trumpet and piano.

Pyotr Okhotnikov was born in 2004 in France to musician parents. He started on cello at 6 years old. He studies at the music school of St Petersburgh conservatory with professor Elena Dernova. Took part at clinics of Denis Severin, M. Zhuravleva, P. Broons, L. Rabin. Pyotr is constantly touring. As soloist, he played Vivaldi, Bruch, Prokofiev, Faure. He is a holder of fellowship of Philharmonic Society (SPb), and laureate of international contests.
