Rachmaninov
Tatar State Symphony Orchestra
Conductor – Alexander Sladkovsky

Eva Gevorgyan, piano
“For me, Rachmaninov has been an absolute god since childhood. My whole life has passed under the light of his music,” conductor Alexander Sladkovsky admitted in a recent interview with “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.

In 2020, the Tatarstan State Symphony Orchestra headed by him carried out a large-scale project - the recording of three symphonies, “Symphonic Dances”, the fantasy “Cliff”, the poem “The Island of the Dead” and “Vocalise” by Rachmaninoff for the Sony Classical label.

“With Rachmaninov, it was more interesting for me to immerse myself in pure symphony, because few people recorded all of his symphonies, “Symphonic Dances”, symphonic poems - “Cliff” and “The Island of the Dead”, the author's edition of “Vocalise” for the orchestra,” the maestro said “Musical Life“.

Today you will hear Symphonic Fantasy “Cliff”, Symphony No. 2 in E minor and Piano Concerto No. 1 in F sharp minor.

Soloist – 16-year-old pianist Eva Gevorgyan, laureate of international competitions, laureate of the Young Talents of Russia award (2019), the “Blue Bird” and “Nutcracker” television competitions, a scholar of the “New Names” Foundation, Vladimir Spivakov Foundation.
