Many a famous authentic musicians have already been our guests. It’s no wonder that the 3rd season would start with the performance of René Jacobs. The famous contratenor, conductor, scholar, and professor is one of the leaders of historically informed performance, and one of the leading experts of baroque and classicism.

For each recording, Jacobs prepares thoroughly, studying all the historical sources available. That was the way he recorded Mozart, for instance. And his “Mozart serial” was praised highly by “Gramophone” magazine, while “The Marriage of Figaro” won Grammy in 2004.

“As for Mozart, I can’t help saying that his music gains much when performed on the instruments he was written for”, Jacobs was quoted as saying.

In Moscow, Jacobs would be standing at the podium, conducting the Freiburger Barockorchester high on the hills of their collaboration on the first edition of Beethoven’s Leonore. In 2020, this recording got Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik, the prize of German album critics.

INTRADA, led by its art director Ekaterina Antonenko, is one of the best choirs of Russia.
