The press has already taken her to their heart: “fulminant, brilliant, beautiful voice” (Das Opernglas), “a touching mezzo” (Süddeutsche Zeitung), “…a treat for the ears and the eyes…” (WAZ). The young mezzo-soprano Lena Belkina is already in demand all over the world.

Lena Belkina sang her way into the international limelight with her Angelina in Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Carlo Verdone/Gianluigi Gelmetti).

Lena sang the Olga part in Tschaikovsky’s Eugen Onegin at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, at Palau de les Arts Valencia and previously at the Leipzig Opera. Here, the singer was ensemble member. Other significant engagements during the last seasons include New National Theater Tokyo (Cherubino/Nozze di Figaro), Deutsche Oper am Rhein (Rosina/Barbiere di Siviglia), Vienna State Opera/Zauberflöte and more: Le nozze di Figaro, La Traviata, Rusalka und Manon. From 2015/16 she sang in Malmö and Limoges Olga in Eugen Onegin, in Prague Cenerentola and in Torino Varvara in Katia Kabanova. She is a sought-after guest at many concert stages like Jerusalem (Das Lied von der Erde), the Vienna Konzerthaus, where she accompagnied José Carreras at his farewell tour and Monte-Carlo (Lieder und Tänze des Todes).

Special attention was paid to Lena in the Mikhaylovsky Theatre in St Petersburg, where she sang, under the direction of Mikhail Tatarnikov, the Polina/Milovzor part together with Elena Obraztsova as countess in Pique Dame.

Meanwhile, the young Mezzosoprano has produced two recordings with SONY Music: after her highly acclaimed Debut-Album DOLCI MOMENTI featuring Belcanto-Arias by Rossini, Bellini and Donizetti with Alessandro de Marchi, the new Album CLASSIC VIENNA with works by Mozart, Gluck and Haydn accompanied by the ORF Symphonic Orchestra under Maestro Andrea Sanguineti was released in summer 2017.

Lena Belkina’s successful career is characterised by the cooperation with important conductors such as Marco Armiliato, Adam Fischer, Alessandro de Marchi, Ulf Schirmer, Andrea Sanguineti, Tomas Netopil, Paolo Carignani, Jiri Belohlavek, Ricardo Muti and many others.
