Closing of “Yanvarskiye Vechera”
(“Nights of January”) Festival

Laureats of past “Nutcracker” competitions
Presenter – Mikhail Khokhlov, artistic director of the “Nights of January”
children's arts festival

The atmosphere of the Gala Concert of the “Nights of January” Children's Arts Festival is always fascinating! After all, young virtuosos – laureates of the Nutcracker International Television Competition – take part in the concert, and the audience can not only appreciate their skills, but also address them with any question, understand that the performer is also a living person who has something to tell about. It is always interesting to communicate with peers who already have achievements in their field and hobby!

The children’s immediacy and their questions cause a kind smile: “How can you move your hands so quickly?”, “How can you memorize so much music?”, “How can you be so long without breathing?”

The gala blurs the line between the audience and the stage; children performers and children in the hall take part in the “interview” with great enthusiasm. This event demonstrates another way to instill in the younger generation an interest in art and creative communication, which is one of the goals of the “Nights of January” festival.

Children's Arts Festival “Nights of January” – a joint project of the Moscow School of Music Gnesins and the Pushkin Museum. A.S. Pushkin. The festival continues the idea of the legendary “December Nights of Svyatoslav Richter”, helping to discover children's talents through the synthesis of painting and music.
