Joyce DiDonato in In War&Peace:Harmony Through Music

Chamber orchestra IL Pomo d'Oro (Italy)
Conductor Maxim Emelyanychev
Music media praises the voice of Grammy-winning Joyce DiDonato as “the purest gold”. And besides this voice and immaculate vocal technique, the singer is great in acting. Her specialty is music of Hendel, Gluck, Mozart, and Rossini. But the concert in “Zaryadye” wouldn’t be just another baroque night, for Joyce DiDonato offers an absolutely new genre, which fuses traditional academic performance with the tricks of contemporary show business. The stunning performance is achieved with the light, dancing, scenery, as well as costumes by British fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.
Joyce DiDonato’s project “In War & Peace: Harmony Through Music” tries to find the answer to “where the peace ends, and war starts?” via Handel’s and Purcell’s music. The two parts of the concert are “The War” and “The Peace”, respectively.
“In War & Peace” project has already won acclaim in many countries of the world. The audio recording of Joyce with Italian baroque orchestra Il Pomo d’Oro (conducted by Maxim Emelyanychev, a new star of international music scene) received Echo Klassik award in 2017.
